Over 70 passenger died Today in an Accident along Ore-Benin Highway

A terrible accident occurred today at Igbogui market along the Ore-Benin highway. Dozens of  lives were lost in the process.




 Eyewitnesses said that over seventy passengers died when a luxury bus belonging to the Young Shall Grow Transport Company collided with a Dangote tanker laden with pms(fuel). The Federal Road Safety Corp (FRSC), however, reported that 36 persons died.

 FRSC gave a press release that the accident happened as a result of tyre malfunction on the Dangote truck.

"A tyre from the Dangote truck suddenly pulled out and rammed into the Tanker which caught fire immediately,” the Press Release says. “The luxury bus which was on speed, lost control and ran into the blazing fire, consuming its occupants.”

Three passengers were said to have been rescued while 30 others died from the luxury bus. The tanker driver and his conductor died along side to two children who were caught by the fire which spread to a nearby mechanic garage.


The luxury bus was headed for Enugu from Jibowu station in Lagos .
